Improvements through family team work

Team work within the family is a great way to improve everyday habits.
Here are some things you can do to support your younger family members.

 Baseline

A great first step is to understand where you are today. Use the two PDFs above — Guide for Parents and Finding Better Digital Balance — to quickly assess your current habits.

These tools can be printed and used individually or shared with family members. They help identify key focus areas, so encourage each family member to choose a few and try out some practical tips for improvement.

The younger persons in the family are seldom the only ones with room for improvement,
so some modesty on the adult side is usually suitable

What do you want to change together?

Are there needs you can address by changing things together?
Can you, for example, agree on family principles for when to use screens and when not to? Or how to plan your evening time to create conditions for better sleep?
Try to find common ground on some things and write down what you agreed on.

 Celebrate results!

Pay attention to improvements and celebrate them. For example, you can reward yourself with something if you manage to hold your family agreement for a whole month.
